-Born to a man from the Bahamas and the useless bitch of a mother who left him and took the kids (Sale and his older brother Squalo who she had with another man).
-Sale has a lot of mental illnesses that make things difficult for him. He has severe Borderline Personality Disorder, which makes him doubt where he stands with everyone else. He also struggles VERY heavily with depression, anxiety, and PTSD. His struggles tend to put him in bad situations due to his inability to properly gauge risk and his impulsive personality. He has tried to kill himself multiple times, overdosing and hanging himself during his attempts. That hasn’t gotten any better.
-He has terrible drug habits. He will do anything he can get his hands on including cocaine, heroin, fentanyl, anything that will make him feel good and take the edge off. Basically life hurts and he wants it all to stop.
-He wants DESPERATELY to be a model. It’s all he’s ever wanted since he was a child, to be beautiful and loved and admired by many. Unfortunately, he keeps being rejected. It makes him feel that his dream is dead.
-After the fight with Mista, he suffered severe frontal lobe damage that caused several severe problems. Inability to gauge risk, seizures, headaches, memory problems, and exacerbated depersonalization. Zucchero and Luca help him with this when they can.
-Luca and Mario Zucchero are everything to him, his best friend and his boyfriend respectively. They’re the only bright spot in his life, and the fact that they were so badly hurt by Bucciarati’s gang makes his blood boil when he even hears about them. He wants Guido Mista to die.
-When he was 19, Sale was approached by a man who took him to his friends and sexually assaulted him. For two full hours, doing whatever they wanted to him. It scarred him heavily and gives him severe PTSD when certain dates and certain things are brought up. Luca and Zucchero are the only ones who know about it and it took a long time for him to even talk about it. But now, he’s doing the best he can to heal and to take back his own sexuality.
